Tigers Fall at William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- The Tigers traveled to William & Mary Saturday afternoon in the team's first Colonial Athletic Association meet of the season, but Towson was defeated 192-68 by the Tribe.

Senior Zac Jelinek had a strong meet for the Tigers, as he recorded top-three finishes in the 100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle events. Jelinek placed second with a time of 47.90 in the 100-yard event and posted a time of 1:43.79 in the200-yard freestyle to finish in third place.

“As a whole, we were not as competitive as last weekend, which was disappointing,” Towson Coach Pat Mead said. “We need to figure out a way to become more competitive because swimming like we did today is not representative of the team we can be.”

Senior Wesley Foltz and freshman Jon Burr finished each posted top three finishes in the 200-yard butterfly. Foltz placed second with a time of 1:57.45, while Burr wasn't far behind as his 1:58.15 time placed him third.

The Tigers will have a two-week layoff before heading to Georgetown University Oct. 22 for a matchup with the Hoyas. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.
