TOWSON, Md. - Drexel used a 15-4 run in the second half to pull away from the Tigers and earn a 58-47 win on Sunday afternoon. On Senior Day, it was juniors Sheree Ledbetter and Krystal Parnell who combined for 23 points to lead the Tigers (9-19, 3-14 CAA).
"I thought once we settled down from the emotions of Senior Day in the first half we played some solid defense today," said Coach Joe Mathews. "Unfortunately we suffered from the same problem today that we have all season which is inconsistency."
Trailing 29-28 coming out of the break, the Tigers quickly scored six of the first nine points in the second half. That run gave Towson a 34-32 lead with 17:03 to play. However Drexel would respond as Hollie Mershon drained a three-pointer at 14:08 to jump start the 15-4 run by the Dragons. Mershon would also cap the run as she hit a pair of free throws at 6:31 to make Drexel's advantage 47-38. The two teams would trade baskets over the next couple of minutes as Deree Fooks made a lay-up at 3:53 to make it a 50-45 game. That would be as close as the Tigers would get the rest of the way. Drexel made 3-of-6 shots at the foul line in the final two minutes to make the final margin of victory, 58-47.

Ledbetter hit a lay-up at 8:25 to jump start an 18-8 run by the Tigers to close out the first half. Ledbetter recorded 10 of her 13 points during that stretch. The run by the Tigers allowed them to pull within one, 29-28 heading into the break.
