TOWSON, Md. - The Tiger volleyball team will look for its eighth win in a row when it hosts Morgan State on Tuesday, September 6 in the Towson Center. Towson (8-1) and the Bears (2-4) will get underway at 7 p.m.
The Tigers and Bears will be meeting for the second time in five days. Towson defeated Morgan State, 3-0 on Friday in the Battle of Baltimore Tournament. In that match, Katy Buck had 14 kills and six digs while Aubrey Kirven contributed 27 assists. Zurie Smith had seven kills for the Bears in that match.
Towson has won seven straight matches and all seven of those wins have come by a 3-0 score. Buck leads the Tigers with 116 kills and 66 digs. Kirven, who was named the MVP of the Battle of Baltimore Tournament, has 293 assists while Paige Sekerak has 126 digs. Susan Gansor led the Tigers with 17 blocks last week and now has 40 blocks on the season.
Morgan State is led by Erin Cox, who has 45 kills and 80 digs while Natalie Chafeh has 153 assists. Kierra Outlin leads Morgan State with 84 digs so far.
Towson will be back in action on Friday, September 9 when it faces Texas A&M Corpus-Christi at 6 p.m. in the Corpus Christi Islanders Classic.
