TOWSON, Md. – Katie Lingmai threw a one-hit shutout as part of a 10-0 victory Sunday to help the Tigers (9-8, 0-0 CAA) complete a series sweep of the Columbia Lions at the Tiger Softball Complex. It was Towson's third straight shutout victory.

Seniors Erika Stasch and Brianna Jones and sophomore Delanie Dunham each hit home runs in the win for the Tigers, who scored 27 runs in the three-game sweep of Columbia. Dunham's solo home run in the fourth inning was the first of her career.

“We have everything going right now,” Towson Head Coach Lisa Costello said. “We are hitting well, we are pitching great and we are playing solid defense. Some of our younger players are putting good at-bats together and it is not just falling on the middle of our lineup to produce runs.”

The Tiger bats erupted in the fourth inning, scoring eight runs on seven hits, including the home runs by Stasch and Dunham. Freshman shortstop Hailey Balk laced a two-run double to left field as part of the fourth inning outburst for Towson.

Lingmai struck out six batters and did not allow her first hit until the fifth inning. With two outs, Columbia's Morgan Cook singled up the middle to give the Lions their first and only hit.

Lingmai won her fourth game of the season while lowering her earned run average to 2.57.

Towson will finish its six-game home stand Tuesday when they face the Seton Hall Pirates for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
