PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Drexel University softball team won both games of a doubleheader against the Towson University softball team on Friday in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Dragons (16-15) won game one 2-1 before taking game two from the Tigers (15-21), 4-3.

Game one of Friday's action was dominated by the pitching as the Tigers' Katie Lingmai and Drexel's Hillary Allen combined to allow just nine hits total.

Sophmore third baseman Delanie Dunham got the Tigers on the board first in game one as she reached on a walk in the second inning. Dunham would score with two outs in that frame as Allen was charged with a balk.

Drexel took the lead in the bottom half of the inning as Allen walked with two outs. The next batter, Sylvia Llamas hit a home run to give the Dragons a 2-1 lead.

Each team would have one runner reach third base the rest of the way as the pitchers were in control.

Allen earned the win for Drexel after giving up one run on five hits and striking out seven. Lingmai suffered the loss after giving up two runs on four hits and striking out five.

In game two, the Dragons got on the scoreboard first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Caprice DiMirjan had an RBI single to score one of the runs and a Tiger error allowed the second run to score.

The Tigers tied the game in the top of the fifth as senior second baseman Haley Stueckler launched her first home run of the year. Stueckler's home run came with no outs and a runner on first.

The Dragons took the lead back in the bottom of the fifth as Hanna Parrish had a sacrifice fly to score a run.

In the top of the seventh, Stueckler tied the game at 3-3 as she blasted her second home run of the game.

Drexel would win the game in the bottom of the seventh as a pair of Tiger errors led to a Dragon run scoring.

Shelby Taylor earned the win in the circle for Drexel as she allowed three runs on four hits. Freshman Missy McCormick took the loss for the Tigers as she gave up four runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits.

Llamas led Drexel with three hits in the game while Stueckler had two hits, three RBI's and two runs scored for the Tigers.

The Tigers and Dragons complete their series with a single-game tomorrow, Apr. 7 at 12 p.m.
