Paskoff, Dickson Collect Weekly Swimming Awards

RICHMOND, Va. - After outstanding performances over the weekend, a pair of Towson sophomores earned weekly awards from the Colonial Athletic Association for the Tiger women's swimming and diving team, the league announced Tuesday. Swimmer Taylor Paskoff was named CAA Women's Swimmer of the Week, while diver Lyndsey Dickson was named CAA Women's Diver of the Week.

Paskoff had her best meet of the season at the Virginia Tech Invitational, placing fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.52, second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.17, second in the 100-yard freestyle in 51.77 and fourth in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:06.39. It was a confidence building performance for Paskoff, according to Towson head coach Pat Mead.

"She had breakout swims that every swimmer wants to have at the end of the season," Mead said. "The key is that she worked all year and earned those times."

Dickson was excellent at the West Chester Diving Invitational, winning both the one- and three-meter dives. She scored  283.50 points in the one-meter event and 318.55 points in the three-meter diving competition.

"Lyndsey continues to become a strong and more mature and confident diver," Mead said. "It's a pleasure coaching athletes who strive to improve."

Towson concludes the season at the CAA Championship meet beginning on Feb. 27.
