TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the final day of the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships on Saturday.
Jed Garner booked his second NCAA ticket and broke Brian Benzing's record in the 200 breast but the Towson men would narrowly come in second overall behind UNC Wilmington with 789 points while the Towson women would place third overall with 1117.5 points.
1650 Free:
- Danielle McCarthy was the Tigers top finisher for the women placing eleventh overall with a time of 17:14.30.
- Christian Davidson would continue his stellar CAA's debut as the transfer claimed his second gold medal of the week swimming a Towson record 15:08.00 to do so.
200 Back:
- Madison Neal was Towson's lone championship qualifier and swam 1:58.79 in the finals heat to take fifth.
- Sean Colson was the only Towson representative in the men's championship and posted a time of 1:42.66 in his final CAA's solo event to take bronze.
100 Freestyle:
200 Breast:
- Britney Denny earned a spot in the 200 breast final and finished eighth at 2:18.86.
- The biggest swim of the night came from the top men's qualifier Jed Garner who swam 1:52.45 to take his second individual gold, punch his second ticket to the NCAA Championships and set a new Towson and CAA All-Time record.
- Also qualified for the men's final were Harry Herrera who placed fourth (1:56.91) and Geoffrey Cradock who finished eighth at 2:00.75.
200 Fly:
- Megan Unruh was the only Tiger in the women's championship and swam a time of 2:02.81 to finish fifth.
- Three Tigers were in the men's championship with Nicco Gurri taking fourth at 1:46.52 with Benjamin Eischeid right behind him in fifth at 1:47.36, and Anthony Mortellite in eighth swimming 1:54.68.
Women's 1 Meter Dive:
- Shannon Parrau completed her final and greatest sweep of the boards as she won her second diving gold of the meet after scoring 280.45.
- Lara Booth Alam qualified for the A finals as well and finished sixth scoring 237.25.
Tiger Awards:
- Shannon Parrau was named CAA Women's Diving Most Outstanding Performer
- Sam Tennell was named the CAA Men's Diving Most Outstanding Performer
- Head Coach Anthony Bruno was named CAA Men's Swimming Coach of the Year
- Diving Coach Sergey Meshcherskiy was named the CAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year and CAA Men's Diving Coach of the Year.
The final meets of the 2026 season are national. First up is NCAA Zone Diving which begins on March 9 at the U.S. Naval Academy.
