TOWSON, Md. – Towson University diver
Shannon Parrau has been named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Diver of the Year, the CAA announced on Friday. Parrau is Towson's first ever CAA Women's Diver of the Year award recipient.
This is Parrau's second CAA end-of-year honor of her career after being named the CAA Women's Rookie Diver of the Year as a freshman in 2023. Parrau had the most dominant season of her career as the senior swept the boards at the CAA Championships to earn 64 points for Towson, more than any other diver. She took gold in the 1-meter dive scoring 280.45 and the 3-meter dive at 295.85 and was named the Women's Most Outstanding Diver of the Meet.
Parrau went on to compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at NCAA Zone "A" Diving where her scores placed her in the top 30 in both boards at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
The regular season saw Parrau win a conference high eight CAA Women's Diver of the Week awards bringing her to fourteen weekly awards in her career.
As announced at the CAA Championships, Towson Diving Coach
Sergey Meshcherskiy was named the CAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year in his first year with the program.
For medaling at the CAA Championships, the following Towson Athletes have been named All-CAA in the specified events.
