WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Towson University junior Joe Gunerman shot his best round of season and third best of his career as the Tigers wrapped up play at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Gunerman carded an even par 70 on Tuesday, just the second Tiger to shoot par this season. Classmate Matt Fry fired an even par 71 at the Patriot Intercollegiate in September.
Gunerman, who finished tied for 11th out of 158 golfers, took advantage of the Par 3's on Tuesday. He was two-under on the Par 3's, tied for the second best score in the tournament.
Gunerman's prior two best rounds came during the 2011 fall season in which he posted a career-best four-under 67 at the 2011 Maryland Intercollegiate and a one-under 71 at the 2011 Joe Agee Invitational.
Towson finished the weather-shortened event in 18th place out of 29 teams. Only one round was fully completed due to snow in the Williamsburg area.
Fry posted a Top 25 finish as he shot a 73 on Tuesday, matching his second best round of the season.
Cas Dickerson (78), Sam Stewart (80) and Ryan Siegler (82) also competed for the Tigers.
