Gunerman Named to All-CAA Men's Golf Second Team

RICHMOND, Va. - Towson University junior Joe Gunerman was named to the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf Second Team, it was announced by the league on Friday.

Gunerman is the first Tiger to earn all-league honors since 2011 when John Duthie was named to the first team and Nyasha Mauchaza was selected on the second team.

Gunerman tied for or led Towson this season in events played (9), rounds completed (23), rounds under par (1) and scoring average (74.8).

The junior earned CAA Golfer of the Week honors on April 25th after winning the individual title at the Navy Spring Invitational. Gunerman carded a season-low 69 (-2) during the final round of the tournament to best a field of 105 golfers, including the 13th ranked golfer in the country according to GolfStat.

UNC Wilmington's Payne McLeod was selected as the 2013 CAA Player of the Year by a vote of the league's head coaches. Also earning top honors from the conference were Drexel's Chris Crawford as CAA Rookie of the Year and the Dragons' Mike Dynda as CAA Coach of the Year.
