| @Towson_SB Advances With 3-1 Win Over Delaware

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - Senior pitcher Katie Lingmai threw a complete game three-hitter and allowed only one run, leading the Tigers (30-28-1) to a 3-1 victory over Delaware (35-22) in the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament at Hofstra on Thursday evening.

With the victory, the Tigers eliminated the Blue Hens from the CAA Tournament and advanced to play James Madison on Thursday night.

Lingmai, who earned her 18th victory of the season, held the Blue Hens to one run and three hits. She walked three and struck out five.

In the second inning, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead when they scored an unearned run with two outs. Rightfielder Maureen Hepner reached base on an infield out. Moments later, freshman Caitie Barber doubled to left center, scoring Hepner with the first run of the game.

In the fourth inning, the Blue Hens loaded the bases with one out. A sacrifice fly by Michelle McKinnon drove in the tying run before Lingmai pitched out of the jam by retiring sophomore catcher Mary O'Reilly on a fly ball.

With one out in the fifth, Barber put the Tigers ahead when she smashed a solo home run over the right centerfield fence, giving Towson a 2-1 lead.

In the bottom of the fifth, Delaware loaded the bases again. But, Lingmai got Lisa Stacevicz on a pop fly to end the threat.

The Tigers added to their lead in the sixth inning when Olivia Yarbrough reached on an infield single. With one out, Jillian Donnelly reached base on an error. Yarbrough scored on a double by Macie McGeehan.

Barber led the Tigers by going two-for-three with two runs scored and two runs batted in.

During the regular season, Towson dropped all three games to the Blue Hens.
