TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's swimming and diving team remained undefeated this season following a 235-65 victory over George Mason on Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool.
"We had some women who swam really tough today," Towson Head Coach Pat Mead said. "Our divers did a phenomenal job. We will fine-tune things and have fun doing the work."
The Tigers (11-0, 2-0 CAA) have now won 11 dual meets in a season for the fifth time in the last seven seasons, all under Mead.
Towson senior Kaitlin Burke won two events for the Tigers, the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events, while also swimming a leg on two winning Tiger relay teams.
Jenna Van Camp won the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events, Melanie Rowland won the 200-yard butterfly, Charlotte Holz won the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley and Amanda Barber won the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events for the Tigers.
Cassie Sorna was also outstanding in the 1,000-yard freestyle, timing 9:59.79 to win the event.
On the diving boards, Natalee Szopo won both events, qualifying for the NCAA zone regionals with 295.58 points on the three-meter board and 277.43 points on the one-meter board.
The Tigers next host Delaware on January 25 in the team's final home meet of the season beginning at 1 p.m.
