TOWSON, Md. - The Towson women's soccer team continues Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play with away matches at Delaware on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. and at Drexel on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
The Tigers (3-8-3, 0-4-1 CAA) are coming off a tough, 2-1 loss to UNC Wilmington Oct. 10 and a scoreless double overtime draw with the College of Charleston on Oct. 12. Senior
Katlyn Axenfeld scored her first goal of the year against the Seahawks. In the match against the Cougars, the Tigers outshot CofC 28-6 and forced four excellent saves out of the Cougars' goalkeeper. Senior

Erin Quinn has started all 14 games in goal. She has a 1.32 goals-against average (GAA) and 71 saves (.789 save pct).
At Delaware - Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.The Blue Hens (6-7-1, 2-2-1 CAA) have a 13-7-1 advantage in the series and have won the last four straight, including shutouts in the last two matches. Towson's last win in the series was in 2009, a 2-1 decision at home, and the Tigers are 3-8 when playing at Delaware.
UD is coming off a pair of losses last weekend to Elon (2-0) and William & Mary (3-1). The Hens and Drexel played to a scoreless tie on Oct. 4.
Nikki Adams' four goals are a team best for Delaware. She is followed by Natalie Zelenky with three goals and two assists. Three Blue Hens players have two goals apiece. Jess Figueroa and Kailyn Rekos are splitting time in net. Figueroa has a 0.97 GAA and 16 saves (.727 save pct.), while Rekos has a GAA of 1.33 and 24 saves (.686 save pct.).

Erin Quinn made nine saves, but Towson fell, 1-0, to Delaware in both teams' CAA season opener on Sept. 26, 2013 at Tiger Soccer Complex. The Tigers weren't able to connect passes and maintain possession, and consistent Delaware pressure made every ball a battle. Despite Quinn's performance in net for Towson, the Blue Hens scored in the ninth minute and held on for the win. Shannon Kearney passed back to Andrea Arnold whose hard shot slapped off Quinn's hands, over her head and into the goal.
At Drexel - Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.Towson holds a 10-6-1 lead in the series and is coming off a 3-0 win at home last season. The series has been fairly even after the Tigers won the first four matches by a combined 11-2, but Towson is 3-2 in the last five matches with the Dragons (7-5-2, 4-0-1 CAA).
Drexel earned a 3-2 overtime win against William & Mary in its last outing on Oct. 12. The Dragons have not lost since a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Clemson on Sept. 11.
Lauren Stollar has four goals to pace Drexel. Megan Hammaker and Melissa Chapman have each scored three goals. Kelsie Fye has started all 14 games in goal for the Dragons. She has a GAA of 0.95 and 59 saves (.808).

Katlyn Axenfeld, the Towson women's soccer team claimed its first CAA victory of the season, a 3-0 decision over the visiting Dragons of Drexel on Sept. 29, 2013 at Tiger Soccer Complex. Towson got started early, scoring two goals in the opening four minutes of the match.
Emily Banes assisted both tallies, sending crosses from left to right on both occasions. Ponce added her second of the game at 53:25 off an assist from classmate
Sofia Read. It was Towson's first CAA shutout since a 1-0 decision over Drexel at home on Oct. 21, 2011.
