Tigers Visit Wake Forest on Thursday Morning

OPENING TIP: After 11 days off for final exams, the Tiger women's basketball team gets back to action on Thursday, Dec. 18. Towson travels to Wake Forest for a special 11:30 a.m. tip as the Tigers and Demon Deacons will be cheered on by local school children from the Winston-Salem area.

SERIES HISTORY: Thursday's game will be just the third meeting all-time between the Tigers and Demon Deacons. The two squads met in both the 2005-06 season and the 2006-07 campaign. Each team has claimed victory on their home court.

AGAINST ACC SCHOOLS: The Tigers will be looking for their third victory all-time against an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) school. Towson is 2-12 all-time against the current members of the ACC. The Tigers have earned wins over Syracuse and Wake Forest. Towson has faced North Carolina, Florida State, Syracuse, Virginia, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Boston College and Wake Forest before. The Tigers have never faced ACC foes - Notre Dame, Louisville, Miami, Georgia Tech, Duke or Clemson.

TWENTY-TWENTY VISION: Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen led the Tigers with 21 points in the game at Maryland. It was Hines-Allen's fourth 20+ point performance of the season and her 10th as a Tiger. She currently ranks second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) for games with 20 or more points scored.

IT WILL BE GOOD TO HEAD HOME: The Tigers are wrapping up a seven-game road trip with Thursday's contest. Towson is currently 2-4 on the trip, having picked up wins at UMBC and Loyola. When the Tigers return home to host George Mason on Dec. 28, it will be the first home game since Nov. 22 when they hosted North Dakota as part of the Preseason WNIT.

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY: Towson had two blocked shots at Maryland as senior forward Camille Alberson tallied both. The Tigers now have 39 blocked shots in the first nine games this season. Through the first nine games last year, the team had just 21 blocks. Towson ranks second in the CAA with 4.3 blocks per game. Nine of the 11 Tigers that have seen playing time this season have recorded at least one blocked shot. That group is led by redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen who has 11. Towson blocked a season-high 11 shots in the win at Loyola earlier this month. That is also the second most blocks in a single-game in program history.

BUSH STEPS UP: Towson got a strong performance from sophomore forward Brianna Bush in its last game at Maryland. Bush came off the bench to score a career-high seven points in just nine minutes of action. She was a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and went 1-for-2 from the foul line.

TAKE CARE OF THE BASKETBALL: Towson has done a solid job of taking care of the basketball so far this season. The Tigers are averaging just 13.1 turnovers per game which ranks second in the conference and 21st in the nation. Towson is tied for fourth in the CAA in turnover margin at +1.56.

UP NEXT: Following Thursday's game, the Tigers return home to host George Mason on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. in SECU Arena.
