Women's Basketball Heads to Delaware on Thursday

OPENING TIP: Looking for their first season sweep of Delaware since the 2007-08 season, the Tiger women's basketball team makes the trip up I-95 to take on Delaware. Opening tip from the Bob Carpenter Center is set for 7 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY: The Tigers resume one of their longest running series Thursday as they visit Delaware. The Tigers and Blue Hens will be meeting for the 67th time. Delaware leads the all-time series 46-20. However, the Tigers claimed a 56-49 victory when the two squads met in January, snapping an eight-game losing streak to the Blue Hens in the process. A win tonight would give the Tigers' their first season sweep over the Blue Hens since the 2007-08 season.

DOUBLE YOUR PLEASURE: Redshirt senior forward LaTorri Hines-Allen produced another double-double for the Tigers in Sunday's contest. Hines-Allen had 21 points and 11 rebounds against UNC Wilmington. Hines-Alllen has recorded a double-double in five of the eight CAA games. Overall, Hines-Allen has 10 double-doubles this year. She leads the team and the CAA in that category. As of Monday morning, the Tigers had the CAA leader in double-doubles on both the women's and the men's side of the ball (Hines-Allen - 10 and John Davis - 10). Six programs out of 364 Division I basketball programs have the women's and men's conference leader in double-doubles (Wake Forest-ACC, Kennesaw State-Atlantic Sun, Towson-CAA, UNLV-Mountain West, Lehigh-Patriot and Bakersfield-Western).

CLEARING THE GLASS: Towson won the rebounding battle on Sunday at UNC Wilmington, 34-30. Seven of the eight Tigers who appeared in the game grabbed at least one rebound. That group was led by seniors LaTorri Hines-Allen and Camille Alberson who had 11 and eight boards, respectively. The Tigers are now 4-2 this season when they outrebound an opponent.

BOMBS AWAY!: The Tigers have become more reliant on hitting a three-pointer during CAA play. Towson hit seven three-pointers in Sunday's contest at UNC Wilmington. Four Tigers made at least one triple in that game. Towson is now averaging 6.6 three-pointers per game during CAA games. The Tigers have hit at least five three-pointers in seven of their eight CAA games (held to three at JMU). Towson hit a school record 12 three-pointers in the win over Northeastern last week. Senior guard Ciara Webb has hit 20 three-pointers in CAA play while junior guard Dominique Johnson has added 16 triples.

THREE SEEING DOUBLE: One of the keys to success for the Tigers this season has been spreading the scoring wealth around. Seniors LaTorri Hines-Allen (21), Camille Alberson (10) and Ciara Webb (10) all scored in double figures in Sunday's contest. It was the fifth time this season the Tigers have had three players reach double digits in the scoring column and the Tigers are 4-1 in those contests.

UP NEXT: Following Thursday night's game, the Tigers return to SECU Arena to host College of Charleston on Sunday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m.

The 2015 CAA Women's Basketball Championship will be held March 12-15 at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro, Md. Call 1-855-TU-TIGER for your tickets.
