The Series: HofstraThe Tigers and Pride are long-time rivals, dating back to many years in the America East Conference before both squads joined the CAA for the 2002 season. Towson and Hofstra have squared off at least once every year since 1995, with the Pride leading the all-time series at 18-3-1. The lone tie was a 0-0 draw in the America East tournament during the 2001 campaign. The Tigers are hunting their first win over the Pride since a 3-2 win at home on Oct. 7, 2011. A win Friday would snap a four-game slide against Hofstra.
The Series: NortheasternTowson clashes with the two-time defending conference champion Huskies for the 16
th time on Sunday. The two teams were also former members of the America East until Towson joined the CAA. Northeastern became a member of the CAA for the 2005-06 year. The Tigers are 8-6-1 all-time against Northeastern. Towson is looking for its first victory over Northeastern since a 3-1 win at home on Oct. 9, 2011.
Home Sweet HomeThe Tiger Soccer Complex has been the friendly confines for Towson lately. The Tigers are 2-0-2 at home this season and are unbeaten in Towson in their last seven games (4-0-3). Additionally, Towson is 3-0-2 in Baltimore County this season, adding a neutral site win over Mount St. Mary's in the Battle of Baltimore last month.
Two a Week From Here on OutFor the remainder of the 2015 season, the Tigers will play twice a week on Friday and Sunday as Towson hits the meat of the conference schedule. After a three-game road swing, the Tigers return home next week to host perennial powers Hofstra (Friday) and Northeastern (Sunday). Kickoffs are slated for 3 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
Stout as Stout Can BeThe Tiger defense has been solid all season long, only allowing more than two goals in once this season. Only three times this season has an opponent scored multiple goals. The Tigers have allowed just 11 goals this season, ranking third in the CAA. The Tiger keepers,
Taylor Sebolao and
Emma Burnett, have made stops at an 87.6 percent clip in 2015, including an 87.1 percent for Sebolao, best in the conference. She also carries the league's third-best goals against average (.810), second most minutes (1,222), and leads in saves per game (5.69).
