TOWSON, Md. – Redshirt junior
Teagan Gardner was named Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Player of the Week after holding unbeaten Delaware scoreless.
Gardner recorded six saves in the 0-0 draw against Delaware. It was the first time in 2026 that the Fightin' Blue Hens were held scoreless. Prior to Gardner's outing, Delaware was averaging 2.67 goals per game.
The Leesburg, Va. native registered six saves with 13 shots faced. Gardner had four reflex saves, which are saves off shots from within a few feet of the keeper. With Towson's high press, Gardner routinely had to come out of the net and play balls at the top of the 18-yard box to prevent Delaware opportunities.
Gardener and the Tigers return to the pitch on Thursday, Sept. 3 at UMBC before returning home to face Bucknell on Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field. Admission to all Towson soccer matches is free.
