Women's Volleyball Kyana Miller

Sets Up with Kyana Miller

TOWSON, Md. - The Towson volleyball program had a solid season, finishing in a tie for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Regular Season title and posting a 26-6 record. Senior setter Kyana Miller is writing a blog for TowsonTigers.com to give fans some insight into what the team is thinking. In this edition, Miller looks back at the end of the regular season.
Welcome back Tiger fans!

I know it's been a little while since you've heard from me but the year is wrapping up and we are well into finals. Looking back on this season it's hard not to be immensely proud of everything this team accomplished, even with the heartbreaking end.

For the conference tournament we traveled back to James Madison with the hopes of going all the way. Since we took second in regular season, we were awarded a bye on the first day and prepared to face UNCW in the semifinals.

We swept through the first set and battled through the second. Suddenly, as we came out for the third set, we hit a wall that we hadn't faced in weeks. UNCW got better and we started to doubt ourselves. They capitalized on the area we struggled in the most, serve receive and did not let up.

It was a hard loss to swallow, especially for those of us that are seniors. I remember being in the locker room after the match, taking off my jersey and looking at it thinking that it was the last time I would get to wear it and have the honor of representing my school.

Now that we've had time to process that the season is over, it's easier to look at the season as a whole instead of that one moment. We claimed the second seed in conference (after the tiebreaker for the four teams that tied for first), ended the season with an amazing winning record (26-6) and had the most fun that I've ever had with a team.

We've become each other's family, bound by this incredible experience and that will never go away. We all still see each other as the younger classes prepare for next season. We continue to lift with Coach Pick and we've even fit in an open gym to de-stress from finals.

Thank you to everyone who came to a match or cheered us on and supported us from home. We hope to see you next year and we can't wait to make you just as proud.

Go Tigers!
