DENTON, Texas – The Towson University women's gymnastics team (5-4) finished second in a quad-meet, hosted by Texas Woman's University on Sunday afternoon. "We had another meet without counting a fall and made our three in-meet goals," Head Coach Vicki Chliszczyk said. "We got a great road score and while we had a pretty rough warmup, we ultimately put 20 routines together to count for us that we needed it."

Towson started the meet on beam where Ross led the team with a 9.775. Her score was the highest of the meet for the event. Tyra McKellar followed behind with a 9.700 while Gabriella Yarussi tied her career-high after scoring 9.675. The team would finish the first rotation with 48.475 points.

Lauren Cahalan set a new career-high on floor with a score of 9.775, high enough to finish the event tied for second-overall. McKellar posted the second-highest result for the Tigers and also grabbed a career-high on floor with a 9.725. Towson scored a team-total of 48.300 on floor.

The Tigers concluded the meet on bars where they would pick up their second team-high score after recording 48.900. Samantha Lutz and Noelle Harada finished tied for third overall with matching 9.800 scores in the event. Lydia Thompson and Vicki Vesecky both recorded 9.775 scores while McKellar finished the event with a 9.750.

McKellar finished in second-place on all-around with a career-high score of 38.950.

Towson will make the trip to the University of New Hampshire for a quad meet with West Virginia and Brown on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.
