WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Towson baseball team will return to the diamond this weekend as it travels to play four games in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Towson opens the weekend with a pair of games Friday. The Tigers will take on Marshall at 11:30 a.m., before facing Wake Forest at 3 p.m.
The Tigers will face the Thundering Herd at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, before closing out the weekend with an 11:30 a.m. first pitch against the Demon Deacons Sunday.
Towson (0-3) has not played since the opening-weekend series at USC. The Thundering Herd enter the weekend with a record of 2-5, while the Demon Deacons are 4-4.
Junior right hander
Austin Clark (0-1, 0.00 ERA) will get the ball in the opener against Marshall. The Thundering Herd will counter with right hander JD Hammer (0-0, 3.38 ERA). Against WF, the Tigers will start right hander
Lee Lawler (0-0, 9.00 ERA) against right hander Parker Dunshee (2-0, 0.00 ERA). Starters for the final two games have not been determined.
Brady Policelli led the offense against USC by going 4-for-11 (.364) with a home run.
Brendan Butler added three hits, including a double.
The Tigers will look to open the home schedule March 6-8 against Bryant. The series is scheduled to get underway at 2:30 p.m. Friday. The series will continue at 2 p.m. Saturday and concluded with a 1 p.m. matinee Sunday.
