TOWSON, Md. – The four Tiger seniors shined in their final home meet on Friday evening as the Tigers narrowly fell to George Washington by a final score of 195.125 to 194.700. Towson (10-12) had six gymnasts record career-highs during the meet.
 
Towson started the meet on bars where they earned a team score of 48.825. The Tigers set three career-high on the event, led by senior 
Nicolette Vignola. Vignola finished tied for third-place with a 9.875. Fellow senior 
Janis Konkle also earned a career-high, scoring 9.675 on the event. Freshman 
Lauren Cahalan had a matching 9.675 score for the Tigers' third and final career-high on the event. Junior 
Katie Sassa earned a 9.825 to finish in fifth-place overall.
                                                                                                                                                               
The Tigers continued their lead onto bars where senior 
Samantha Lutz won the event with a career-high 9.850. Towson earned a team total of 48.700 for the event, outscoring the Colonials (48.550). Junior 
Vicki Vesecky and freshman 
Tyra McKellar earned matching 9.775 scores for the event, finishing tied for third overall.
 
Towson fell behind after the third rotation, earning a team total of 48.675 on the balance beam. The Tigers had four gymnasts score a 9.775 for the event. Lutz earned her second career-high of the meet with a 9.775. Junior 
Bridget Steffen had a matching 9.775 which was also a career-high. Lutz, Steffen, Cahalan and McKellar all finished tied for fourth overall with their scores (9.775).
 
The Tigers wrapped up the meet on floor where they earned a team total of 48.500. McKellar led the Tiger effort with a 9.825 score to finish third overall. She was followed by Cahalan who scored 9.775 to place fifth and Sassa who earned a 9.725 score.
 
McKellar finished in third-place for the all-around with a 39.000 total.
 
Towson will travel to George Washington for a 1 p.m. dual meet on Sunday, March 15 to wrap up the regular season.
