TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis team will travel to Howard University for a 12 p.m. noon matchup on Tuesday, March 2 in Washington, D.C.

The Tigers defeated George Mason University 6-1 last Friday to improve to 5-4 on the season. Towson had five players earn singles victories in straight sets, led by
Sophie Lesage in the No. 1 singles spot. The Tigers also picked up the doubles point against the Patriots.

Howard enters the matchup with a 1-5 record. The Bison were last in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 when they fell to George Washington University 4-2. Howard earned its first doubles point of the season in the loss to the Colonials. Sophomore
Jessica Josiah has led the Bison with a 3-2 singles record at the No. 4 singles spot.

Towson will travel to Annapolis for two matches this weekend. The team will face Marist College on Saturday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. and Navy on Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. The Tigers were originally scheduled to host Marist for their spring season opener but moved the match to Navy's indoor facilities due to predicted weather temperatures.
