TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team (9-7) will open Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play against James Madison (19-6) with a neutral site weekend series in College Park, Maryland. The Tigers and Dukes will face off in a doubleheader on Saturday, March 21 beginning at 3:30 p.m. The series will wrap up on Sunday with a single game at 12 p.m.

The series was moved to the Maryland College Park Softball Complex due to weather related delays to the construction upgrades on the Tiger Softball Stadium.

The Tigers are returning to action after playing seven games in Florida, five as part of the Michele Smith Spring Break Tournament held by the University of South Florida and a doubleheader against Florida Gulf Coast. Towson earned wins in three of those games to improve to 9-7 on the season.

Brook Miko has a team-high 16 hits and 14 RBIs. She is a perfect five-for-five in stolen bases. Senior pitcher/outfielder
Missy McCormick leads the Tigers with a 2.77 ERA and a 5-2 record. She has pitched a team-high 48.0 innings and struck out 35 opponents, walking only nine batters.

James Madison enters the weekend with a 19-6 overall record, having won 10 straight games. Junior catcher/utility player
Erica Field leads the Dukes with a .447 batting average and .718 slugging percentage. She has a team-high 38 hits and 21 RBIs. Freshman pitcher/infielder
Megan Good enters the series with a 10-0 record. She has a team-best 1.10 ERA and has pitched 70.0 innings, walking only 17 opponents and giving up 14 runs and 41 hits.

Towson will open a seven-game road trip at Villanova for a mid-week doubleheader on Wednesday, March 25. The Tigers will then travel to CAA foe Hofstra for a weekend series that begins Saturday, March 28 with a doubleheader and concludes with a single game on Sunday.
