TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team begins a seven-game road trip when the Tigers travel to Villanova for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 25. The first game of the twin-bill is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Towson enters this week with a 9-10 record and a 0-3 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). The Tigers are returning to action after opening conference play against James Madison in a weekend series held at College Park.

Freshman shortstop
Brook Miko leads the Tigers with a .385 batting average. She has team-high 20 hits for the season and 14 RBIs.

Senior pitcher
Missy McCormick has a team-low 3.36 ERA over 58.1 innings pitched. She has a 5-4 record, pitching six complete games and striking out a team-high 40 batters.

Villanova holds a 8-13 record and a 1-2 mark in Big East conference play. The Wildcats are coming off a weekend series against Georgetown where the Hoyas won two of the three games.

Sierra McConnell leads the Wildcats with a .351 batting average and is tied with freshman
Dana Morris for a team-high nine RBIs. Sophomore
Brette Lawrence has posted a team-low 1.80 ERA while junior
Kate Poppe is the team leader in wins (4), innings pitched (82.0) and strikeouts (90).

The Tigers will continue their road trip with a weekend series against CAA foe Hofstra. The series begins Saturday, March 28 with a doubleheader and concludes with a single game on Sunday.
