TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team wraps up a nine-game home stand when it hosts Saint Francis for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 15 at 3 p.m. The Tigers will look to extend their season-long eight game winning streak against the Red Flash.

Towson improved to 22-16 overall and 5-7 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play after sweeping conference rival College of Charleston this past weekend.

A trio of Tigers earned CAA weekly honors this week, led by senior
Missy McCormick who earned her second-straight pitcher of the week nod. Sophomore
Holiday Cahill was the CAA Player of the Week and freshman
Brook Miko was honored as rookie of the week for the second time this season.

McCormick pitched three complete game shutouts last week to help the Tigers go 7-0. She allowed just four hits while striking out 12 batters in 17 innings. McCormick leads the Tigers in the circle this season with an 11-5 record. She has a 2.35 ERA and has a team-best 81 strikeouts over 98.1 innings.

Cahill has been the power source for the Tigers during their current win streak. She has blasted five home runs and driven in 21 runs during that time period. She leads the Towson lineup with 32 RBIS, 10 home runs and is tied with Miko for a team-leading 40 hits.

 Miko earned the weekly honors after posting 10 hits, two home runs and scored nine runs over 21 at-bats. She tallied 10 RBIs last week to help the Tigers outscore their opponents 59-12.

Saint Francis enters the matchup with an impressive 23-9 overall record, after winning five of its last six games. Senior
Taylor Parsons leads the Red Flash with a .365 batting average. She has a team-high 37 hits on the year and has scored 27 runs. Sophomore
Alexis Bower has four home runs and her 23 RBIS ranks second on the team.

Blaire Lauthers and freshman
Ethel Stantai are the top two pitchers for SFU. Lauthers is 8-3 on the year with a 1.09 ERA and 27 strikeouts. Santai is 7-2 with a 2.66 ERA and 42 strikeouts.

Towson will go on the road to battle CAA rival UNC Wilmington in a weekend series that begins on Saturday, April 18. The Tigers and Seahawks will play two games on Saturday starting at 12 p.m. The three-game series will wrap up with a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m.
