TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team returns home to host Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Drexel this weekend. The squads will play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 25 with the first game starting at 12 p.m., and then wrap up the three-game series with a single game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Towson Athletics will host a grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting for the newly renovated Tiger Softball Stadium before Saturday's games. The festivities will get underway at 10:25 a.m. There will be light refreshments, giveaways and family-friendly activities that will include a moon bounce, face painter and balloon artist. Saturday's game will also serve as Parkville Rec Day as the Tigers welcome local youth softball teams. Â

Towson has won five straight and 18 of its last 21 games to enter this weekend 29-18 overall and 6-9 in CAA play. The Tigers are a perfect 13-0 inside the Tiger Softball Stadium. Towson scored 12 two-out runs during its doubleheader sweep at UMBC on Thursday. The Tigers were down 3-0 with two outs in the seventh inning of game one before scoring five unanswered runs to top the Retrievers.

During the Tigers' win streak, junior
Olivia Yarbrough leads the Tigers with seven hits and five runs scored. She is batting .467 in her last five contests. Sophomore
Holiday Cahill blasted her team-leading 12th home run of the season against UMBC on Thursday. The 12 home runs this season ties the school record for most homers in a single-season.

Freshman
Megan Dejter and McCormick have each won their last two starts for the Tigers. Dejter has allowed just four hits and no runs over her last 10 innings, while McCormick has given up just three runs and struck out 18 in her last 14 innings of work.

Drexel enters this weekend 17-19 overall and 5-9 in CAA play. The Dragons have dropped three of their last four games and are coming off a pair of mid-week losses at Seton Hall.

Junior shortstop
Paula Ueno leads the Dragon offense with 47 hits and a .392 batting average. She has a team-high nine doubles, 21 runs scored and 21 RBIs. Sophomore
Taylor Lee has pitched the majority of games for Drexel. She boasts a 14-10 record and leads the Dragons with a 2.08 ERA and 78 strikeouts over 161.1 innings.

Towson will remain home to host Mount St. Mary's in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29. The pair of games will start at 3 p.m. and will be the final home games played at Tiger Softball Stadium this season.
