TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team will travel to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) newcomer Elon for a three-game conference matchup that begins with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 4 at 1 p.m. The Tigers and Phoenix will wrap up the series with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Towson enters this weekend with a 15-13 record and a 0-6 mark in CAA play. The Tigers recently swept Norfolk State in a mid-week doubleheader at the newly renovated Tiger Softball Stadium.

Olivia Baltazar earned her first career win, pitching all five innings for the Tigers in the second game of the doubleheader and allowing just one hit and one walk.

Kendyl Scott was a combined 5-for-6 with three RBIs in the Tigers' wins over the Spartans. Scott is second on the team with 24 hits and is tied with fellow freshman
Brook Miko for runs scored (16). Miko leads the Tigers with 27 hits and 16 RBIs. She is a perfect seven-for-seven in stolen bases on the season.

Missy McCormick enters this weekend with a team-best six wins (6-5) and a 3.22 ERA over 67.1 innings pitched. She has a team-high 54 strikeouts.

Elon has a 22-10 overall record and is currently 4-2 in CAA play after sweeping a weekend series against Drexel.
Kara Shutt, who was named CAA Player of the Week on Monday, leads the Phoenix's offense with 35 hits and 24 runs scored.
Kayla Caruso is tied for the team-lead in wins (seven) on the mound. She has a 2.10 ERA and a team-best 37 strikeouts in 60.0 innings pitched.

Towson will open a nine-game home stand on Tuesday, April 7 with a 2:30 p.m. doubleheader against Delaware State. The Tigers will then welcome Georgetown on Wednesday, April 8 at 3:30 p.m. before battling College of Charleston in a weekend series that starts Saturday, April 11 at 12 p.m.
