TOWSON, Md. – The Towson gymnastics program travels to Ball State for a dual meet on Sunday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m. in Worthen Arena.

Towson will begin the meet on the uneven bars before moving to vault for the second rotation. The third rotation will feature the Tigers on floor. Towson will finish the meet on the balance beam.

The Tigers opened their season with a third-place finish at the Pittsburgh Quad Meet last weekend. Towson finished with 192.775 points and posted its best performances on bars and floor, earning matching 48.400 score on both events.

Towson's underclassmen led the way with 22 of the team's 24 routines performed by freshmen or sophomores. Sophomore
Gabriella Yarussi shined on beam, earning a career-best 9.825 that tied for fifth-place overall. Sophomore
Tyra McKellar and freshman
Aysia Sharif finished with matching 9.750 scores to tie for second overall on floor. McKellar placed fifth in the all-around with a 38.275 total.

Ball State opened its season with a 194.825-191.650 loss to No. 24 Kentucky on Jan. 8. The Cardinals earned its best team score on floor (48.525). Two-time defending Mid-American Conference (MAC) floor exercise champion
Denasiha Christian, finished second overall in that event.
