TOWSON, Md. – The Towson gymnastics program travels to Michigan State for a quad meet on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. The meet will also feature Pittsburgh and Rutgers and take place in the Jenison Field House.

The Tigers are coming off an unexpected bye week as inclement weather cancelled Towson's home opener on Jan. 24. Towson was last in action in a dual meet at Ball State on Jan. 17 where the Tigers fell 194.100 to 192.550. The Tigers had eight top-three finishes, led by
Tyra McKellar who won bars and the all-around.Â

Michigan State fell to No. 19 Minnesota 195.675-195.275 last weekend. The Spartans had season-highs on three of the four events for a season-high team total. Lisa Burt won the all-around while Elena Lagoski tied for first-place on floor for the Spartans.

Pittsburgh is coming off a win over No. 15 New Hampshire last week. The Panthers outscored the Wildcats 193.550-193.275. Tracey Pearson won the all-around and vault titles while Linsday Offutt earned a victory on floor.

Rutgers posted a season-high score on uneven bars but ultimately fell to Nebraska 195.825-193.075 last week. Michelle Amoresano impressed for the Scarlet Knights, registering a career-best 9.800 on bars and a season-high 9.775 on vault.

The Tigers stay on the road, traveling to New Hampshire for a quad meet with Bridgeport and Brown on Sunday, Feb. 7 at 1 p.m. Towson will open its season at home on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. against Pittsburgh, Ursinus and Penn.
