TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's swimming and diving team won seven events but it was not enough as the team fell to William & Mary, 150-130 on Saturday. Towson posted 18 top-three finishes in the dual meet, held at Burdick Pool.
 
How it Happened

• Towson opened the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Nick Breschi, Ryan O'Leary, Jack Saunderson and Nick Essing combined for a time of 1:33.05.
• In the 1000-yard freestyle, Will Dougherty finished in first-place (9:23.92).
• Brandon Ress followed with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle, timing 1:42.52.
• Breschi posted a time of 51.12 to earn a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke. 
• O'Leary was the runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke, timing 58.39.
• Towson impressed in the 200-yard butterfly, taking first and second. Saunderson timed 1:47.89 for a first-place finish. Noah Pritchard followed in 1:52.90.
• In the 50-yard freestyle, Essing placed third with a time of 21.28.
• Breschi won his second event of the day in the 200-yard backstroke, timing 1:51.50.
• O'Leary and Stefan Keller swam 2:08.54 in the 200-yard breaststroke for a second-place tie.
• Dougherty won the 500-yard freestyle, his second win of the day (4:35.25). Ress was the third-place finisher, timing 4:40.51.
• Saunderson posted his second win of the day in the 100-yard butterfly, timing 49.09.
• Ben Johnston took third in the 200-yard individual medley (1:56.51).
• The Tigers wrapped up the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Breschi, Dougherty, Ress and Essing teamed up for a time of 3:08.34.
• On the diving boards, Jake Casey won the one-meter with a score of 172.12. He recorded 183.82 in the three-meter for an event victory.
