Women's Volleyball Jenni Young and Emily Russell

Through the Eyes of the Tigers

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson volleyball team improved to 20-7 overall and 7-5 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play after a win at Elon last weekend. Freshmen Jenni Young and Emily Russell are writing a blog this season for TowsonTigers.com called "Through the Eyes of the Tigers" detailing life as a freshman in college and as a student-athlete. Young and Russell check in this week to recapping the win and looking ahead to the final two home matches!
Hey Tiger Fans!

It was a great weekend for the Gold and Black Attack.

We traveled down to Elon and beat them on their home court in four sets for the season sweep! Special shout out to outside hitter/fellow freshman Annie "Anye" Ertz for getting her first career double-double in that match. You rock, Anye! Another shout out to freshman Sydney Bates for getting a crucial ace against Elon. Y'all are awesome!

And a final shout out to another stud freshman (are you sensing a theme here?) Marrisa Wonders, who was the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Y'all really rock!

We even had the weekend off and celebrated some early Halloween fun. Monday morning, the coaches let us dress in costumes for practice to celebrate Halloween in the gym. (See the picture for some of the clever costumes.)

This week is very bittersweet as we prepare for our last two home games of the season. We've only played with these seniors for one year, but Lindsay "Six Feet of Sunshine" Flaherty, Jess "J-Lew" Lewis and Candace "Rock Steady" Steadman have been an amazing group of girls to play beside and learn from. They will be missed!

Make sure y'all come out to support our amazing seniors and cheer on your Towson Tigers as we face Hofstra (Friday) and Northeastern (Sunday). We are preparing to get two final wins in SECU Arena in 2016. It will be a pair of tough matches, but great ones to come see! Our match against Hofstra is our "Aces for Autism" match so be sure to wear blue and help us support a great cause!

Until next week, GO TIGERS!
