SUNDAY FUN: Sunday is Alumnae Day and the Tigers will welcome back their former players. The alumnae will be recognized at halftime of the game. Fans are also reminded that Sunday is the final day of the CAA Food Drive. Any fan that brings a canned good to the game can receive a ticket for $5 to the game.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Northeastern enters Sunday's game having won five straight contests following a 78-66 win over the College of Charleston on Friday.
Francesca Sally had 19 points to lead five Huskies in double figures in that game.
Samantha DeFreese leads the Huskies while averaging 13.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Gabby Giacone is adding 9.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
SERIES HISTORY: Looking for a season sweep, the Tigers welcome Northeastern to SECU Arena Sunday. It will be the 33rd meeting all-time between the two schools. Towson holds an 18-14 advantage in the series. The Tigers have won six straight in the series following a 72-71 win when the two teams met in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) opener in January.
Dominique Johnson drained a three-pointer with 7.4 seconds left to lift the visitors to the win.
Jordyn Smith had a career-high 17 points in that game while
Francesca Sally had 14 points.
BIG DAY BRITT: Freshman forward
Brittany Tarr had a big night for the Tigers on Friday at William & Mary. Tarr poured in a career-high 21 points while going 10-for-15 from the field and 1-for-2 from the foul line. Tarr also pulled down six rebounds. That raised Tarr's season total to 103 rebounds. She became the first Tiger freshman since
Dovile Miliauskaite (2007-08) to pull down 100 rebounds during her rookie campaign.
CLEARING THE GLASS: Towson won the rebounding battle on Friday night, pulling down 32 boards to the Tribe's 27 rebounds. All 10 Tigers who appeared in the game grabbed at least one rebound. That group was led by redshirt sophomore forward
Jordyn Smith, who had a game-high seven rebounds. It was the second time in the last three games that the Tigers have won the rebounding battle.
TWENTY-TWENTY VISION: Towson had a pair of Tigers score 20 points against William & Mary. Freshman forward
Brittany Tarr had 21 points while junior guard
Raven Bankston added 20 points. Tarr scored 20+ points for the first time in her career while Bankston scored 20 points for the seventh time this season and 27th time in her career. It also marked the third time this season and the first time since January 15 that the Tigers had two players with 20+ points in the same game.
THE BIG 4-0-0: One Tiger reached the 400 point plateau on Friday night while another Tiger moved a little closer to that mark. Tiger junior guard
Raven Bankston entered Friday night needing three more points to become the 17th player in program history with at least 400 points in a single-season. She finished with 20 and now ranks 18th in single-season history at Towson with 417 points. Senior guard
Dominique Johnson enters today's game with 359 points this season. If Johnson can reach the 400 point mark, it would mark the second straight season she has scored at least 400 points in a season.
LENDING A HELPING HAND: The Tigers did a good job of distributing the basketball against William & Mary. Towson had 14 assists on 26 made baskets in that game. Leading the charge was redshirt sophomore guard
Raine Bankston with seven assists. Bankston's sister, junior guard
Raven Bankston dished out five assists in the contest. On the season, the Tigers have six players with 10 or more assists and three of those players have 50 or more.
Raine Bankston has 57 assists while senior guard
Dominique Johnson has 56 helpers.
