PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Towson women's gymnastics team recorded 192.775 points to finish second at the Rutgers Quad Meet on Sunday afternoon. The meet was the final of the Tigers' road regular season finale. The host Scarlett Knights won the meet with 195.050 points while Southern Connecticut (190.725) placed third and West Chester (188.475) came in fourth-place.
The Tigers had seven top-five finishes, led by
Mary Elle Arduino (balance beam) and
Tyra McKellar (all-around) won event titles. Arduino has now won the balance beam title in three-straight meets.

HOW IT HAPPENED- The Tigers totaled 47.825 points on vault, led by Bayleigh Fobes. In just her second appearance of the season, Fobes scored 9.700 to finish fifth. Cortni Baker followed tied for eighth-place with a score of 9625.
- Noelle Harada tied for fourth-place to lead the Tiger effort on uneven bars with a 9.600. Bridget Steffen earned a score of 9.575 to tie for sixth-place while Mary Elle Arduino (T8th, 9.550) rounded out the Tiger gymnasts in the top 10.
- Arduino won the balance beam title with a mark of 9.850. She has now won three balance beam titles in consecutive meets. Tyra McKellar followed tied for fourth (9.775). Lauren Cahalan and Aysia Sharif earned matching scores of 9.675 to tie for 10th-place.
- McKellar and Sharif were the runner-ups on floor as the Tigers had their best performance of the night, totaling 49.075 points. McKellar and Sharif earned matching scores of 9.875 which is a career-best for Sharif. Baker finished tied for fifth-place (9.825) while Katie McGrady scored 9.775 to tie for ninth-place.
- In the all-around, McKellar won with a total of 38.725 points.
UP NEXT- Towson returns home to host William & Mary on Sunday, March 13 at 4 p.m. in SECU Arena. The meet will serve as Senior Day with the Tigers honoring seniors Lydia Thompson and Vicki Vesecky.
