Baseball Starts Week at George Washington

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Towson baseball team will continue its road swing as the Tigers travel to face George Washington Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The contest will be the second between the two schools in as many weeks.  GW handed Towson a 10-2 defeat April 12 at Schuerholz Park.

Pitching Matchup
RHP Lee Lawler (2-2, 4.95 ERA) vs. RHP Robbie Metz (1-4, 7.36 ERA)

vs. the Atlantic 10
Towson is playing its third of four games against the Atlantic 10.  The Tigers are currently 0-2 with losses at George Mason and at home to George Washington.

Running into the Record Book
Freshman Richie Palacios is running his way into the Towson record book.  He has already established a new freshman single-season record for stolen bases and is not just three stolen bases away from the single-season record.  He is currently 26-for-33 in stolen base attempts.  Shane Justis holds the record with 29 stolen bases in 2005.  Palacios currently ranks fifth in the NCAA in stolen bases.

One-Run Games
Towson found itself on the wrong end of three-straight one-run games last week.  The Tigers had success in one-run games prior to last week, going 7-3.

On Deck
The Tigers return to CAA play as they travel to face UNCW April 22-24.  The series is slated to get underway Friday at 6 p.m.
