Headed North: The Towson University women's basketball team is back in action Friday, Jan. 6. The Tigers travel to Northeastern to take on the Huskies at 7 p.m. in the Cabot Center. Series History: Towson gets its first look at the Huskies this weekend. It will be the 34th meeting all-time between the two schools in a series that dates back to the mid-90's, when both schools were members of the America East. Towson leads the series 18-15 as the two schools split their meetings last season. The visiting team won each game last year. Senior guard Raven Bankston averaged 17.5 points per game in the two contests last season.

Nifty Fifty: Towson redshirt junior guard Raine Bankston tied for the team lead with four assists on Monday against Drexel. That raised Bankston's season total to 50 helpers. She has dished out multiple assists in 10 games this season, including a career-high nine twice (UMBC and George Mason). Bankston is the first Tiger since Breonn Hughey in 2014-15 to have 50 or more assists in just 12 games. She enters play this weekend ranked third in the CAA while averaging 4.2 assists per game.

Climbing The Ranks: Despite having played just 42 games in a Towson uniform over the last year plus, senior guard Raven Bankston has managed to climb several of the career record lists at Towson. Bankston enters play this weekend needing just 18 more points to become the 38th player in school history with at least 700 career points. She needs one more made free throw to become the 30th player in program history with at least 150 made career free throws. Bankston needs 11 more steals to break into the top 25 for career steals (123 or more).

Seeing Double: Towson sophomore guard Sianni Martin tied for the team lead with 11 points at Drexel. Martin has now scored in double figures in six straight games and 11-of-12 games this season. Martin has scored in double figures in 26 games during her career.

Lending a Helping Hand: Towson dished out 11 assists in Monday's contest at Drexel. It was the ninth time this season, the Tigers have recorded double digit assists. Five Tigers recorded at least one assist in Monday's game. That group was led by guards Raine and Raven Bankston, who had four helpers each. Towson is averaging 12.6 assists per game this season. Fourteen Tigers have recorded at least one helper as Raine Bankston leads the way with 50 assists.

Plenty Of Time: The game against Northeastern will feature three of the top four players in the conference for minutes played. Northeastern guard Jess Genco leads the CAA while averaging 38.2 minutes per game.
Towson guards Raine and Raven Bankston are not far behind her in minutes played. Raine ranks third in the conference while averaging 35.4 minutes per game. Raven is fourth while hitting the court for an average of 35.1 minutes per game.

We'll Take The Charity: The Tigers continue to find success shooting the ball from the foul line this season. The Tigers' are 176-of-249 (70.7%) from the charity stripe this season. It is the first time under head coach Niki Reid Geckeler that the Tigers are shooting 70 percent or better from the foul line through 12 games. Towson enters play this week ranked third in the CAA for free throw percentage. The Tigers rank second for free throws made in the conference. Part of the team's success at the line has come thanks to senior guard Raven Bankston and sophomore guard Sianni Martin. Bankston, who went 4-for-4 against Norfolk State, is now 39-for-42 (92.9%) from the charity stripe this season. She leads the CAA and ranks sixth in the nation in that category. Martin was 1-for-2 at Drexel and is now 37-for-44 (84.1%) on the season. She ranks second in the CAA and 69th in the nation.

Up Next: The Tigers return home following Friday's game to kick off a four-game homestand. That action begins as the Tigers host James Madison on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.
