Jack Saunderson and senior
Nick Essing combined for three event wins as the Tigers fell on the road to CAA rival William & Mary on Saturday at the W&M Rec Center, 177-85.
Saunderson posted wins in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard individual medley while Essing won the the 100-yard freestyle.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Saunderson set a pool record and the CAA's fastest time in the 100 fly this season, touching the wall in a time of 48.72 seconds. He now owns the top two times in the conference in both the 100 and 200 fly.
- Essing won the 100 free in a time of 46.62 seconds while finishing third in the 50 free in 21.23 seconds.
- Sophomore Ryan O'Leary posted two second-place finishes in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. His time of 57.94 seconds in the 100 is the team's top mark this season and the fourth-fastest in the CAA while his time of 2:08.09 in the 200 is the second-fastest in the CAA.
- Saunderson, Essing, O'Leary and sophomore Owen Robinson finished second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:33.32.
- Junior Evan Brophy posted a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle and came in third place in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Brophy, Essing, sophomore Hunter Wright and junior Zach Bishop placed third in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:11.04.
- Bishop added a third-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:52.99 which is the top time on the team and the fourth-fastest in the CAA.
- Senior Colin Roddy was second in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.19.
- Other notable performances for Towson included senior Matt Sieffert (3rd, 1000 free), freshman Nick McClure (3rd, 200 fly) and junior Stefan Keller (3rd, 200 breast).

- Towson has almost three weeks to prepare for its next meet when the Tigers travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bucknell Invitational. The three-day event begins on Friday, November 17.
