Time to Head West: The Towson University women's basketball team resumes game action following a break for finals as the Tigers head west to take part in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic. Towson will face Arkansas Pine Bluff on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 5:15 p.m. (EST) and Radford on Friday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m. (EST). All games will be played at the South Point Casino and Hotel. Series History (vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff): Towson will meet Arkansas Pine Bluff for the first time ever in Las Vegas. The Golden Lions are the second team the Tigers will face for the first time ever this season (UMass). Towson is 1-0 all-time versus the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), having faced just Southern before.
Series History (vs. Radford): Towson gets a chance to face its former Big South Conference rival when it takes on Radford. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 7-2 but the two teams have not met since the 2008-09 campaign. Towson has won each of the last two meetings between the two schools, including a 59-53 win during the 2008-09 season in Towson.
Clearing the Glass: Towson continues to be a dominant force when rebounding the basketball. The Tigers outrebounded Norfolk State 45-39 in its last outing and has now won the rebounding battle in all nine games. Towson has grabbed 40 or more rebounds in seven games and had a season-high 48 rebounds against Loyola. The Tigers enter play this week averaging 42.7 rebounds per game. Mary Cuevas finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the game at Norfolk State. It was Cuevas' second straight double-double and fourth of the season. It is the most double-doubles by a Tiger since
LaTorri Hines-Allen had 14 during the 2014-15 season. Cuevas enters play this week averaging a double-double on the season with 11.1 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
Taking the Freebies: Towson sophomore forward
Nukiya Mayo was a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line at Norfolk State. It was the fifth time this season Mayo has made five or more free throws in a game. She had a season-high 12 made free throws against UMBC. Dating back to the Loyola game, Mayo has made 12 straight opportunities from the charity stripe. She enters play this week having gone 41-of-50 from the foul line and ranked fourth in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with an 82.0 free throw percentage.

Nukiya Mayo contributed two rejections each. Towson now has 59 blocks on the season and has recorded seven or more blocks in a game five times this year. The Tigers enter play this week averaging 6.6 blocks per game. Towson ranks eighth in the nation for blocks per game and 23rd for total blocks. Cuevas leads Towson with 22 blocks and ranks 26th nationally for blocks per game (2.44 per game). Ten Tigers have recorded at least one block through the first eight games.
I'll Take That: Towson grabbed nine steals in its last contest at Norfolk State. Sophomore guard
Etalyia Vogt led the Tigers with three swipes in that game. The Tigers have recorded five or more steals in ever game this season. Towson enters play this week ranked third in the CAA while averaging 9.3 steals per game. Four Tigers have recorded 10 or more steals on the season. Junior guard
Danielle Durjan leads Towson with 18 steals and ranks sixth in the CAA while averaging 2.0 steals per game. Vogt is second on the team with 17 steals so far this year.
