Fans who wear pink to the game to support the cause can purchase a $5 ticket to the game. Breast cancer survivors and their families will receive complimentary tickets to the game.
Series History: The Tigers get a second chance to face UNCW as the Seahawks come to SECU Arena. It will be the 30th meeting all-time between the two schools. UNCW leads the series 20-9 and has won seven straight against the Tigers after a 59-56 win in Wilmington earlier this year. Senior guard
Raven Bankston led the Tigers with 14 points in that game.
Amber Reeves hit a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds to play to secure the win for UNCW.
The Big 9-0-0: Towson senior guard
Raven Bankston enters play this weekend with a chance to reach a scoring milestone. Bankston, who has already scored the 1,000th point of her career, enters the weekend with 855 points in 52 games as a Tiger. Bankston needs 45 more points to become the 25th player in program history with 900 or more career points. She would also become the first Tiger since
Dominique Johnson to score 900 or more career points as a Tiger.
I'll Take That: Towson continues to take advantage of its quick hands when it comes to steals. The Tigers recorded 12 steals in Sunday's contest at College of Charleston. Six Tigers recorded at least one steal in that game. Senior guard
Raven Bankston led Towson with four swipes against the Cougars. It was the third straight game and 15th time this season the Tigers have recorded double-digit steals in a contest. The Tigers rank 31st in the nation in steals per game. In addition Bankston is 13th nationally for total steals (70) and 14th in steals per game (3.14). Bankston needs five more steals to become the first Tiger since Shanae Baker-Brice (2008-09) to have 75 or more steals in a single season.
Cleaning The Glass: Towson turned in a balanced effort rebounding the basketball against College of Charleston. The Tigers recorded 37 rebounds, as all 11 players who appeared in the game posted at least one board. Junior forward
Mary Cuevas, junior center
Daijha Thomas and sophomore guard
Sianni Martin each recorded six rebounds in the contest. Cuevas leads the Tigers in rebounding as she is pulling down 5.7 rebounds per game. She has found most of her success rebounding the basketball since Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play has begun. Cuevas is averaging 7.1 rebounds per game in CAA only games. That ranks 11th in CAA-only games.
Seeing Double: A pair of Tigers scored in double figures in Sunday's contest at College of Charleston. Senior guard
Raven Bankston led the way with 17 points. Sophomore guard
Sianni Martin added 11 points against the Cougars. Bankston has now scored in double figures in 12 straight games and 21 of 22 contests this season. Martin has scored in double figures in six of her last seven contests and in 17 games this season.
Up Next: The Tigers are back in action on Sunday, Feb. 12 as they travel to William & Mary for a 2 p.m. game. Towson returns home next weekend to host Drexel (Feb. 17) and Northeastern (Feb. 19).
