NORFOLK, Va. – After having its weekend tournament in Philadelphia cancelled, the Towson University baseball team will head to Norfolk, Virginia for three games March 17-19.
 
The Tigers play UMass Lowell on Friday at 10 a.m., Iona Saturday at 10 a.m. and St. John's Sunday at 3 p.m.  All games will be played at Virginia Wesleyan College.

The State of Virginia
Towson is in the midst of a string of playing seven-straight games against a team from the state of Virginia or in the state of Virginia.  The Tigers played a pair of games last weekend, and due to weather, will be traveling to Virginia for three games this weekend.  The swing ends next week when the Tigers travel to face Virginia on March 21-22.
 
Best Start
The Tigers are off to one of their best starts in the Division I era at 8-3.  This start only trails the 2001 team that began the season 9-2.
 
Adams Earns CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week
Junior right hander Michael Adams was named the CAA Co-Pitcher of the Week after throwing six shutout innings against Norfolk State.  He allowed just four hits, all infield singles, and struck out seven.
 
First shutout Since 2014
Adams gave way to Kyle Stricker in the seventh inning and the duo combined to toss the first shutout for the Tigers since May 10, 2014 against Delaware.
