Early March Home Openers
This weekend marks the earliest the Tigers have played a home game since hosting Central Connecticut State for a doubleheader March 2, 2012. Towson swept the doubleheader.
Vs. Wagner
The Tigers and Seahawks are meeting for the first time on the diamond.
3-1 Start
The Tigers are off to their best start since they opened the 2014 season by winning all three games at the Wake Forest Tournament. Towson opened that season with victories over Wake Forest, Marshall and Georgetown.
One Run Allowed in Opener
The Towson pitching staff allowed just one run in the season opener against Cal State Northridge. It marked the fewest runs allowed in a season opener since the Tigers defeated Iona, 16-1, in the 1999 opener.
Late Inning Runs
Towson did the majority of their damage on opening weekend late in the game. The Tigers scored 22 runs over the four games, with 18 of those runs coming in the seventh inning or later. Towson scored three runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth in the 7-2 victory, then came back the next day and scored six runs in the seventh inning in the 6-5 victory. The Tigers are yet to a score a run in the first four innings this season.
Up Next
Towson plays its first midweek games of the season as they travel to face Delaware State (March 7) and UMBC (March 8).
