Baseball Hits Road For a Pair of Midweek Games

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team will play its first midweek games of the season when they travel to face Delaware State Tuesday afternoon and UMBC Wednesday afternoon.

Live Audio
Live audio of both of Towson's midweek games will be available on TowsonTigers.com.

Cuas to Get First Start
Redshirt sophomore Alex Cuas will make his first career start against the Hornets on Tuesday.  Cuas is 1-0 on the season after not allowing a hit over two shutout innings against Cal State Northridge.  Dean Stramara will make his second start of the season at UMBC on Wednesday.

Best Start Since 2001
The Tigers are off to their best start since opening the 2001 season 7-1.  The Tigers can equal that mark with a victory over DSU.  The 7-1 start in 2001 is also the best start for the Tigers as a Division I program.

Home Sweep
The Tigers opened their home season with a three-game sweep over Wagner.  It was the first home sweep by the Tigers since sweeping James Madison last season.

Strong Starting Pitching
The Tigers are off to a strong start thanks in large part to their starting pitching.  The Towson starters allowed just two earned runs over 18 innings against Wagner.  As a team, Towson leads the CAA with a 3.19 ERA.

Up Next
The Tigers return to Schuerholz Park March 11-12 for a three-game series against Norfolk State.  The series opener is set for 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, with a 1 p.m. doubleheader set for Sunday.
