Tigers Fall at Delaware State

DOVER, Del. – The Towson University baseball team saw its five-game win streak come to an end with an 8-1 loss to Delaware State Tuesday afternoon.
 
How it Happened
  • The Hornets broke the scoreless tie in the fourth inning after Ciaran Devenney doubled down the left field line to start the inning.  After a single, Tommy Jordan delivered a sacrifice fly to center field.
  • Evan Regez drove in the second run with a single through the right side and Austin Beverly plated the third run with a fielder's choice.
  • DSU added to its lead in the fifth inning as they pushed across five more runs, highlighted by a two-run single from Austin Bentley.
  • The Tigers finally got on the board in the seventh inning after back-to-back walks to Billy Lennox and Tristan HowertonAndrew Cassard followed with an RBI single to center field.
  • Cassard made the most of his first career start by going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
  • Alex Cuas (1-1) took the loss after allowing three runs on six hits over 3.1 innings.
  • Kody Reeser was effective in his debut by allowing just two hits in three shutout innings.
  • Lennox singled up the middle in his first at bat for his first hit as a Tiger.
