TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team will face High Point University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, May 12. The Tigers, who earned an at-large bid for the second time in program history (2010), will be making their second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and ninth overall.
 
The Tigers' first round game will be played at the University of Maryland Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. Opening draw between the Tigers and Panthers is set for 4 p.m. The winner of that contest will advance to face the top seeded Terrapins on Sunday, May 14.
 
It will be the first ever meeting between Towson and High Point.
 
Towson is 12-6 on the year after falling to Elon in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) semifinals. The Tigers are led by Second Team All-CAA senior 
Samantha Brookhart who has a team-high 69 points on 17 goals and 52 assists. Earlier this season, she tied the school record for single-game assists, set the school and CAA single-season assists records and the Towson career assists record. Second Team All-CAA sophomore 
Carly Tellekamp leads the team with 51 goals while CAA Defensive Player of the Year freshman 
Olivia Conti has a team-best 46 caused turnovers.
 
High Points is 15-3 this season and captured the Big South Championship to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers have won 15 straight games entering the tournament. 
Samantha Brown leads High Point with 79 points on 57 goals and 22 assists. 
Erica Perrotta has contributed 34 goals and 25 assists and has added 34 draw controls and 43 ground balls. 
Jill Rall leads the Panthers in goal with a 7.94 goals against average and a .429 save percentage.
