STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Towson University women's lacrosse team is set to travel to Long Island to face off against No. 12/14 Stony Brook on Friday evening. Towson is coming off a 10-13 loss against Hofstra last weekend. The Tigers will be coming into
Kristen Carr's third season as the head coach for the Black & Gold.

Hannah Lewis has made a significant impact at attack for the Tigers this season. The redshirt junior leads the team in points (29) and goals (25) and ranks fifth in the CAA in goals per game (2.27).
Jenna Cardeno also continues to make an impact in her sophomore year between the pipes. Cardeno ranks second in the CAA in saves per game at 93 (8.45 average per game) and ranks 31st in the NCAA in the same category. Last week, the sophomore eclipsed 250 career saves. In her first year, Cardeno was the only goalkeeper named to the CAA All-Rookie Team.
Preseason Accolades
The Tigers were voted to finish in third place in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning 33 points. The Black & Gold were picked behind CAA defending champion Stony Brook and Drexel. Senior midfielder

Welcome (Back) to Towson!
Kristen Carr was named the Women's Lacrosse Head Coach in July 2023. The two-time gold medalist has made assistant coaching stops at North Carolina, Delaware, Stanford, Ohio State and Johns Hopkins. Carr was an IWLCA All-American defensive midfielder at North Carolina, where she made four NCAA Tournament appearances. Alongside

Scouting Stony Brook
The Seawolves enter Friday's matchup with a 10-2 overall record and a 3-0 record in CAA play. Stony Brook picked up wins this season over UAlbany, UConn, No. 15 Colorado, No. 19 Denver, Rutgers, Monmouth, Villanova, Drexel, Campbell and No. 20 Princeton. Earlier this week, Inside Lacrosse named attacker Mirabella Altebrando (Honorable Mention), midfielder Isabella Caporuscio (Second Team) and defender Hailey Huebener (Honorable Mention) to spots on the outlet's Midseason All-American team. Stony Brook ranks first in the conference in multiple categories such as goals per game (13.33 avg/g), assists per game (7.08 avg/g), points per game (20.42 avg/g) and shots per game (32.92 avg/g).
