TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University women's gymnastics team returns to action Friday night inside SECU Arena, hosting a quad meet with North Carolina, Ursinus and Yale beginning at 7 p.m., on Team Up Four 1 Night.
"We are excited to host our annual Team Up For 1 meet in honor of our adoptee and team member Laneah Whiddon," said head coach
Vicki May. "This is the third year we have had the honor and privilege of Laneah and her family being members of our family and we cherish the times we have with her. Laneah is one of the strongest individuals we know, and we are privileged to be able to help support the Team Up For 1 Foundation."
The Team Up For 1 Foundation (TU41) mission is to enhance the quality of life for children (and their families) with developmental disabilities, chronic and life-threatening illnesses. TU41 engages the sports world by matching children with teams from every competitive level – college, high school and professional.
Through MVP Ceremonies, team activities and endless TU41 programs – children and families leave behind their heavy burden and receive support and compassion to improve their quality of life. TU41 offers programs supporting parents and siblings as part of caring for the child.
May is currently a member of the Team Up For 1 Foundation's Sports Committee.
