Towson Welcomes Class of Six to Women's Lacrosse

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team will have new faces on the field in 2020, after six inked their letters of intent to suit up in Black and Gold.
 
Head coach Sonia LaMonica is excited about the incoming class and what their talent will bring to the Tiger squad.
 
"I'm very proud of this recruiting class and cannot wait to infuse their personality, character and talents into our program next fall," LaMonica said. "We are committed to not only sustaining our success but building upon it, and this class will help us do that."
 
Joining Towson are Olivia LePage, Gabby Garrett, Carly Merlo, Callie Zoeller, Samantha Intrieri and Blair Pearre. Below are their high school accolades and accomplishments.
 
Olivia LePage
Hometown: Glenwood, Md.
High School/Club Team: Glenelg HS/Heros
Position: Midfield
Accolades: Three-time AA State Champion, four-year starter varsity lacrosse and basketball, All-County Defensive Team, won a state championship with basketball as well
 
Carly Merlo
Hometown: Reisterstown, Md.
High School/Club Team: Gerstell Academy/M&D Club
Position: Goalie
Accolades: First-Team All County, Under Armour 150 All-Star Team, four-year varsity lacrosse starter and captain, four-year honor roll member, also played varsity field hockey, Gerstell Academy Lacrosse Leadership Award, National Honor Society, SGA Treasurer
 
Gabby Garrett
Hometown: West Henrietta, N.Y.
High School/Club: Rush Henrietta HS/Rush
Position: Attack
Accolades: Four-year varsity starter, four-time All-League, Monroe County and Section V First Team selection, All-Greater Rochester team
 
Callie Zoeller
Hometown: Juniper, Fla.
High School/Club Team: Oxbridge Academy/LaxManiax
Position: Attack
Accolades: Three-year varsity captain, four-year varsity starter, led the team in goals, assists, draw controls, and ground balls, All-Palm Beach County First Team, First Team All-Region, First Team All-District, Nike Elite 120, Under Armour All-America Team, Inside Lacrosse Invitational, FCA National Team, Assistant Coach for FCA South Florida girls middle school team, District Champion freshman year, National Science Honors Society member
 
Samantha Intrieri
Hometown: Ambler, Pa.
High School/Club Team: Wissahickon
Position: Midfield
Accolades: Two-year varsity lacrosse captain, 2018 Suburban One All-League First Team, 2018 Team MVP, 2018 PASLA All-Academic Lacrosse Team, Suburban One American League Top Scorer with 68 goals her junior year, four-year varsity lacrosse starter, 2016-18 Suburban One All-League Scholar Athlete, 2017 Suburban One All-League Third Team, 2016 Rookie of the Year, National Honor Society member, also played varsity soccer and ran varsity track
