TOWSON, Md. - The Towson University baseball team opens its home season this weekend as they welcome UAlbany to Schuerholz Park for a three-game series March 2-4.  The series is set to get underway Friday at 2 p.m. and continue with a 1 p.m. first pitch on Saturday and Sunday.

The Tigers open their 2018 home schedule as they welcome UAlbany to Schuerholz Park for a three-game series March 2-4.  The series opener is set for 2 p.m., with the Saturday and Sunday games set to begin at 1 p.m.

The weekend weather is calling for very windy conditions in Towson.  The temperatures will be in the mid-40s all weekend, but the winds are expected to be up around 20mph.

Series History
The teams have met nine times prior with the Tigers holding a 8-2 advantage in the all-time series.  The teams last met during the 2014 season.  The last meeting in Towson happened in 2008 with the Tigers sweeping a three-game series.  The teams played three weekend series in Towson in 2003, 2007 and 2008.

The Tigers and Great Danes last met on March 1, 2014 in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  The Tigers won the game, 8-2.

Early March Home Games
This season marks the second-straight season the Tigers will open their home schedule on the first weekend in March.  Last year, the Tigers swept a three-game series from Wagner, winning the first game on Friday and sweeping a doubleheader on Sunday.

Palacios Continues to Swing Hot Bat
Shortstop Richie Palacios continued to swing a hot bat in the second weekend of the season.  The junior collected six hits, including two doubles and a home run, in the three games at Richmond.  

Lennox Swings Way into Lineup
Billy Lennox swung his way into the starting lineup as he collected three hits, including a double, in the final two games of the series against Richmond.

On Deck
The Tigers play their first midweek game of the season as they travel to face George Mason on March 7.  First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
