WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Towson University women's gymnastics team won three out of four events, highlighted by individual wins by junior
Cortni Baker and senior
Gabriella Yarussi as the Tigers won a dual meet at William & Mary Saturday at Kaplan Arena, 194.200-192.350.
Baker finished first on vault with a 9.850 and second on floor with a 9.800 while Yarussi finished first on floor with a 9.850 and second on vault with a 9.775.
How it Happened
- Towson opened the meet on bars where it had four gymnasts finish in the top five, led by freshman Tess Zientek who was third with a 9.775. Junior Brittney Ranti was fourth with a 9.750 while Baker and senior Katie McGrady were fifth with a 9.725.
- Towson transitioned to vault on the second rotation where Baker led four Tigers who finished in the top five. Yarussi, junior Erin Tucker and senior Tyra McKellar all finished in a tie for second with a 9.775.
- On floor in the third rotation, Towson swept the top three spots led by Yarussi. Baker was second with a 9.800 while junior Mary Elle Arduino was third with a career-high 9.775. Tucker was fifth with a 9.700.
- On beam in the final rotation, sophomore Melissa Temkov finished second with a 9.750 while McKellar, Arduino and and McGrady were fourth with a 9.725.
- Arduino finished second in the all-around with a 38.675.

- The Tigers wrap up their regular season on senior day next Sunday, March 18 when they host a five-team meet with William & Mary, West Virginia, Cornell and EAGL rival N.C. State at 2 p.m.
