WASHINGTON, D.C. - Towson University women's gymnastics junior
Brittney Ranti posted a career high on bars, highlighting the Tigers' performance in a quad meet at No. 17 George Washington with Maryland and Rutgers at the Charles E. Smith Center.
The Colonials finished first with a season-high 196.825 points, just 0.05 away from the program record set in 2015. Maryland finished second with 195.825 points followed by Towson (195.520) and Rutgers (193.550).
How it Happened
- Towson began the meet on bars where junior Mary Elle Arduino finished in a four-way tie for sixth with a 9.825. Ranti finished in a tie for 10th with a career-high 9.800 while seniors Cortni Baker and Katie McGrady tied for 13th with a 9.775.
- McGrady led the Tigers with a 9.800 on beam to finish a five-way tie for eighth. Arduino and senior Tyra McKellar finished tied for 13th with a 9.775.
- Sophomore Melissa Temkov finished sixth on floor with a 9.825, but was the only Towson gymnast to finish in the top-12. Senior Gabriella Yarussi finished 14th with a 9.750.
- The Tigers finished the meet on vault where they posted their best score of the day with a 48.825, highlighted by Baker's 9.875 to finish in a tie for second. Towson placed three gymnast in the top-5 as Yarussi and junior Erin Tucker each posted a 9.775.

- The Tigers travel to Williamsburg, Virginia next Saturday, March 10 for a meet with William & Mary beginning at 3 p.m. The meet will also feature the Tribe's men's gymnastics team who will be hosting Army West Point.
