TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University softball team returns home this weekend where it will host the Tiger Clash. Towson welcomes Fairfield and Mount St. Mary's to campus on Saturday and Sunday for three games a day. All three teams will play one another twice.

Towson's six-game winning streak is its longest since 2015 … The 12-3 start matches the 1986, 1987, 2010 & 2016 teams for the best record after 15 games … The best start in program history was 18-3 in 1987.

Towson is ranked among the top 15 nationally in five offensive categories entering this weekend. The Tigers are sixth in scoring (7.13), eighth in batting average (.343), 10th in doubles per game (1.80), 13th in on-base percentage (.414) and 15th in slugging percentage (.517).

Mount St. Mary's
Mount St. Mary's junior third baseman
Lindsay Heinze was named the Northeast Conference Softball Player of the Week on Monday. Heinze hit .381 and slugged .905 with three home runs and eight RBI in seven games for the Mount last week. The Mount have lost three straight games. In addition to Heinze's .349 batting average, Mount St. Mary's top hitters include Kaylee Stoner (.277) and Kirsten Mumma (.243). The Mount is 2-6 on the road. Marian Ruf has two home runs and eight RBIs. Jordan Weaver leads the Mount with three wins and Kate Olson has a 3.68 earned run average.
Fairfield
Members of the MAAC, Fairfield split a pair of games of the Campbell Stampede, falling to Georgia Tech in the opener but coming back with a shutout against host Campbell University. The Stags finished the two-day event with a 3-1 record including a win over Georgia Tech on day one of the tournament. Makenna DiGuilio (.421 average) and Lacey Olaff (.333) are the Stags' leading hitters. Courtney Hankins has hit two of Fairfield's three home runs. She also leads the team with seven RBIs. Fairfield is averaging 2.8 runs per game. Destinee Pallotto has two shutouts and a 3.76 earned run average.
